How can we grasp the opposing notions that our bodies are both sites of production and slowly decaying? I make images and objects which call attention to these opposite forces in the life cycle by investigating birth, physical development, death, cancer and illness, and the body’s potential for healing. I research how to stimulate curiosity and creativity, and I am interested in work that is messy, chaotic, and repulsive, yet simultaneously campy, alluring, and touchable. I produce art which, like the human body, can be simultaneously sensual, confusing, and repulsive.
